The struggle for Iberia and Sicily is difficult and intense, but once it is pacified you have a base of operations to build up for a Hannibal trip. The first forty turns were quite engaging. I personally liked the Carthaginian campaign to a certain point. Confederations with other Greeks and the campaign creates an epic Greek empire. After that Antigonids and Illyria are quick grabs. Some Greek cities can be rough, but Sparta and Athens have it easy because they can support each other and can only be attacked from one front. I haven't tried other Diadochi much, but their starting positions are a lot more secure so definitely recommended. I had negative income, less than two thousand troops and fresh Rhodian and Knossian armies were landing on my shores. Needless to say, I surrendered that campaign. My army was not ever fully replenished after turn three. I wiped out, two Tylis armies, two Spartan armies, three Athenian armies, and one Rhodian army. Eprius is wiped out within in ten turns leaving you very exposed. As soon as I "discovered" Rhodos and Knossos they declared war for no reason. My last campaign had me at war with Tylis, Sparta, Athens, Rhodos, and Knossos. Diadochi are a bit easier though, coz as the Greek factions, you'll need to really plan or get booted by others.Well the bigger Diadochi are a bit easier, Antigonidai have it rough. If not Romans, then the Greek or Diadochi. If you want to torture yourself, play on of them on hard or above ^^ No trades mean less money and no diplomacy running. Also giving them 5000 doenst seem to change their mind, which increases the difficulty even more. Also both have another problem in common, literally no one wants to trade with you. This is especially the case of the Odrysian. I have wars with folks who are not even close to me lol. Also the diplomatic status of players seem have to changed, if you are minor faction and have negativ with anyone it basically almost means an war. The recruitment system for cultures makes it extremly difficult to get units for Tylis, unless you want to spend 120 for each unit, each turn. Tylis and Odrysian got one of the hardest starting points for me. However, Tylis, Getae and Odrysian are really hard. Made some wars with my blood buddys and i got a conforderation after 2 turns which both of them. Currently i try to get run with the pirates and raiders.
